The Medical Surgical Assistants Society of Australia (MSASA) is delighted to announce that registrations are now open for the MSASA 2026 Day Conference & Annual General Meeting, to be held on Saturday, 10 October 2026 at Epworth Richmond, Victoria.

This year’s conference theme, “Going the Extra Mile,” reflects the commitment, professionalism and dedication demonstrated every day by Surgical Assistants across Australia. It recognises the important contribution Surgical Assistants make to patient care while encouraging continual learning, collaboration and clinical excellence.

Whether you are an experienced Surgical Assistant or new to the profession, this conference offers an outstanding opportunity to update your knowledge, share ideas with colleagues and strengthen your professional network.

A Full Day of Education and Collaboration

The conference has been carefully developed to provide a balance of expert presentations, practical education and interactive learning.

Delegates can look forward to:

  • Expert keynote presentations
  • Current clinical updates
  • Practical breakout sessions
  • Industry exhibition
  • Networking with colleagues from across Australia
  • The MSASA Annual General Meeting

Morning sessions will feature plenary presentations, followed by interactive breakout sessions in the afternoon, allowing delegates to tailor part of the day to their individual interests.

As in previous years, breakout session allocations will be made once the final program has been confirmed and will be allocated on a first-registered, first-allocated basis.

Going the Extra Mile

This year’s theme recognises the commitment Surgical Assistants make every day in supporting surgeons, multidisciplinary teams and, most importantly, patients.

Going the extra mile means continually improving our clinical skills, embracing innovation and maintaining the highest standards of professional practice. It also means supporting one another as a profession and sharing knowledge that ultimately benefits patient outcomes.

The conference provides an ideal opportunity to learn from respected presenters, exchange ideas with colleagues and explore the latest developments shaping surgical assisting in Australia.

Annual General Meeting

The conference concludes with the MSASA Annual General Meeting, where members will receive an update on the Society’s activities, achievements and future direction.

The AGM also provides members with an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of MSASA and the profession.

Post Conference Networking Function

Following the AGM, delegates are invited to continue the day’s conversations at the Post Conference Networking Function, commencing from 6:30 pm at Ms Parker Restaurant, located just 100 metres from the conference venue.

Enjoy drinks and finger food while networking with fellow Surgical Assistants, speakers, sponsors and members of the MSASA Committee.
